Tomek and Ewa tried to have a child for over 7 years. Both had always dreamed of having a large family, but their efforts to conceive a child proved fruitless. Years of disappointment and unsuccessful treatments led to a final diagnosis – it turned out that Ewa no longer had her own eggs. Her ovarian functions had prematurely ceased at the age of just 31. For both Ewa and Tomek, the only chance to conceive a child was to use donor eggs and undergo in vitro fertilization.
Once we understood the nature of our problem, we scoured half the internet in search of help. Initially, we wanted to learn more about egg donation and treatment options – so many clinics, so many offers, different numbers and statistics. The first two clinics turned out to be complete failures – one in terms of organization and patient care, the other in terms of effectiveness.
Both Ewa and Tomek fell into depression. Their entire relationship suffered, and they no longer had the strength to engage in serious conversations with each other. The turning point came when they met a blissful couple at a cousin’s wedding who had just become pregnant thanks to a certain clinic…
Today, Ewa and Tomek are proud parents of little Natalia, thanks to in vitro fertilization with a donor egg.
They went through the process at the INVICTA Clinic in Warsaw. Today, they try not to dwell on the journey they had to endure, but they are eager to talk about egg donation and the needs that come with it. Dealing with infertility treatment is a tremendous challenge for any couple.
“In the case of people facing a problem similar to ours, it can be a trauma: months of waiting, dilemmas, uncertainty. Knowing this problem from the other side – if I could, I would share my eggs with someone. It’s really so little to give someone happiness,” emphasizes Ewa.
