An extraordinary story of pursuing one’s dreams and the joy and satisfaction of helping others.
For some women, getting pregnant is an obvious stage in life that seems to bring immense joy in a natural way. However, as often happens, what comes easily to some can be a real life challenge for others, filled with stress, uncertainty, and suffering. Allow me to introduce you to Anna’s story and her difficult journey to happiness.
At first glance, their story seemed ordinary – Anna met Mark at university and fell in love at first sight. They spent nearly every moment together, traveled, and pursued their passions. Then came more significant steps – moving in together, and eventually, the decision to get married. A year after their wedding, Anna started thinking about having a child.
She waited for the right moment to bring up the topic. Mark also wanted a family, but when they began trying for a child, it was Anna who read books, engaged in online forums, and patiently waited. Months passed, and pregnancy tests stubbornly displayed negative results. Every mention of a child with Mark led to arguments. Anna desperately wanted to become a mother, while he struggled to handle the pressure. Doctors diagnosed infertility stemming from Mark’s poor sperm parameters.
That was the beginning of the end. After two years of trying and several visits to specialists, they grew apart completely. They escaped into work, routine, and silence. Anna wasn’t even home when Mark moved out. He left only a letter, and the rest of the formalities were handled through intermediaries. Anna spent the next two years sinking deeper into resignation.
New love was like a burst of energy and hope. At the age of 32, Anna got married again. Dreams of having a child returned. She knew it would be more challenging now that she was older, but she was convinced they would succeed. When she found out she was pregnant, she only talked about it for the first few weeks. During one of her prenatal check-ups, in the waiting room of the gynecologist’s office, she overheard a conversation between two young women. One of them had no eggs of her own and couldn’t become a mother like Anna once wanted to. After the birth of her son, Anna began to take an interest in egg donation.
On online forums, women complained about the long waiting times for an egg donor, sometimes up to a year. A year that could mean losing everything.
Anna had long conversations with her husband – whether it would be her child, whether her body would react negatively to medications, whether it would hurt, what the law said, and what kind of parents the recipients of her egg would be. There were many doubts. At the INVICTA Clinic, doctors explained the entire process and answered their questions. Anna made her decision on the day her son smiled back at her for the first time.
She wanted to help at least one woman whose destiny had denied her the happiness that motherhood brings. Anna’s qualifying tests for becoming an egg donor were normal. She went through the stimulation phase and the egg retrieval procedure. She left the clinic with the feeling that she had shared something important.
